All of the Above was selected for its world premiere at the 41st Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Directed by Allison Walsh, a 2012 alum of the World Religions course, the film was inspired by her experience as a student and her desire to document the academic, constitutionally grounded study of religion in a public-school setting. The documentary follows students as they engage primary sources, examine the historical and cultural impact of religions, and participate in dialogue across lines of belief and worldview. In doing so, it reflects a central conviction of the course: that religious literacy is an essential component of civic education in a diverse democracy. By equipping students with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and habits of respectful inquiry, the course prepares them not only for college and careers, but for thoughtful participation in an increasingly pluralistic world.
